Our programs are delivered by a diverse and experienced multidisciplinary team, including Direct Support Workers (such as Child and Youth Workers, Developmental Support Workers, and Social Workers), Supervised Behaviour Technicians, a Registered Behaviour Analyst, and a consulting Psychologist. This team works collaboratively to design and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person’s unique strengths and needs.
FYSS is also proud of its strong history of building effective partnerships with external organizations including schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies which enhances access to a wide range of complementary supports. These collaborations play a key role in helping individuals achieve their developmental goals and thrive within their communities.
Direct Support Workers
At Frontline Youth Support Services (FYSS), our Direct Support Workers are carefully selected professionals who hold a diploma in a relevant human services field. Each team member undergoes a thorough vetting process that includes positive reference checks, a criminal background check, and a vulnerable sector screening to ensure a high standard of safety and reliability.
To effectively meet the diverse and complex needs of the individuals we serve, our support staff receive specialized training in a broad range of areas, including:
- Crisis prevention and intervention
- Cultural competence and sensitivity
- Safe medication administration
- Behaviour management techniques
- Fire safety and emergency response procedures
- Principles of confidentiality and privacy
- Quality assurance and accountability practices
- Development and delivery of person-centered care plans

Supervised Behaviour Technicians at FYSS
Our Supervised Behaviour Technicians are integral members of a multidisciplinary team, providing individualized, behaviour-based support for individuals with complex emotional, social, and psychological needs. They collaborate closely with Direct Support Workers, Registered Behaviour Analysts, mental health professionals, educators, and community agencies to ensure consistent and high-quality care.
Our Supervised Behaviour Technicians possess:
- Familiarity with sector regulations, including SIPDDA, CYFSA, and QAM requirements
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Proficiency in developing and implementing intervention strategies and behavioural programs
- Experience training and supporting staff, including providing feedback and direction
- Practical experience working with individuals with developmental needs, autism spectrum disorder, mental illness, dual diagnoses, and behavioural challenges such as aggression or self-injury
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective team collaboration
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal

Registered Behaviour Analysts at FYSS
Our Registered Behaviour Analysts (RBAs) are responsible for leading clinical decision-making and overseeing the delivery of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services tailored to each individual’s needs.
In addition to the foundational qualifications of a Supervised Behaviour Technician, our RBAs bring specialized expertise and credentials, including:
- Active registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (RBA certified as of July 1, 2024)
- A minimum of two years’ experience implementing intensive behavioural interventions, preferably within residential or group home settings for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dual diagnoses, or complex behaviours such as aggression and self-injury
- In-depth understanding of MCCSS regulations, including SIPDDA, CYFSA, and QAM standards for residential care
- Advanced skills in analyzing behavioural data and trends, and developing evidence-based treatment strategies accordingly
