What We Offer

At Frontline Youth Support Services (FYSS), our clinical team is dedicated to delivering specialized, person-centred care. We conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments and develop individualized Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) that focus on both skill development and behaviour regulation.

Working closely with our care and support team, we design and implement tailored programs that address the behavioural, emotional, communication, and developmental needs of each person we serve. These programs are delivered in safe, nurturing, community-based homes by our trained Direct Support Workers, under the expert guidance of our clinical team.

Through a supportive and empowering environment, we help individuals:

  • Build confidence
  • Develop essential life skills
  • Achieve greater independence
  • Experience a true sense of community and belonging

We believe that active community engagement is essential for personal growth and social inclusion. Our community programs connect individuals with opportunities to explore their interests, build relationships, and participate in meaningful activities that enhance their quality of life.

Through structured outings, recreational programs, and volunteer placements, we promote:

  • Social interaction and friendship-building
  • Participation in cultural and recreational events
  • Confidence in navigating community settings
  • A sense of belonging and inclusion

Caring for a loved one with developmental or mental health needs can be rewarding but also demanding. Our respite services provide short-term, high-quality care for individuals, giving families and caregivers the time to rest, recharge, or attend to personal matters with peace of mind.

Whether for a few hours, overnight, or an extended stay, our respite care ensures:

  • Safe, comfortable, and engaging environments
  • Compassionate, trained staff supervision
  • Activities tailored to the individual’s preferences
  • Flexible scheduling to meet each family’s needs

We empower individuals to develop the skills they need to live more independently and confidently. Our life skills programs are hands-on and tailored to each person’s abilities, needs, and goals.

Areas of focus include:

  • Cooking and meal preparation
  • Money management and budgeting
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Household maintenance and organization
  • Communication and self-advocacy

The transition from adolescence to adulthood can be challenging, especially for individuals with developmental or mental health needs. Our transition programs provide the guidance, skills, and resources needed to navigate this important life stage.

We help youth:

  • Explore post-secondary or vocational options
  • Develop work-readiness skills
  • Build confidence in independent living
  • Access community and adult support networks

We partner with families, schools, and caregivers to extend behavioural and skill-building support into everyday environments. Our school-based and in-home programs focus on improving communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction in familiar settings.

Support includes:

  • Collaboration with educators and school teams
  • Implementation of individualized behaviour strategies
  • Social skill development and peer interaction support
  • Ongoing progress monitoring and adjustment

When urgent behavioural or emotional challenges arise, our crisis intervention team provides immediate, compassionate, and skilled support to ensure safety and stability.

Our approach includes:

  • Rapid response and de-escalation techniques
  • Emotional regulation strategies
  • Collaboration with families and care teams
  • Follow-up support to prevent recurrence

Meaningful employment is a powerful step toward independence and self-worth. FYSS offers vocational training and job readiness programs to help individuals gain the skills, confidence, and support needed to succeed in the workplace.

We assist with:

  • Career exploration and goal setting
  • Resume writing and interview preparation
  • On-the-job coaching and mentoring
  • Building workplace communication and teamwork skills

Our goal is to foster empowered, inclusive lives by promoting dignity, self-expression, and equal opportunity. We honour the unique potential of each person we serve and are committed to building communities where everyone is respected, supported, and able to contribute meaningfully.
